Nintendo will launch their Wii News channel this Saturday, January 27th with stories furnished by the Associated Press in English, French, Spanish, Dutch, German and Swiss-German. Achtung!

Nintendo and the AP have a two-year contract with Nintendo stating that they have no plans to sell ad space. Which is nice. Until they do that is…

VP of Marketing Perrin Kaplan had this to say:

"The beauty of it is it zooms in and out of areas of the world…So if you really want to focus on regional news or national news versus international, you just blow up the map of the U.S."
