SIXAXIS Emmy Confusion Cleared Up. Kinda.
So a couple of days ago it was reported that the SIXAXIS won an Emmy for engineering. Which was odd.
And now today we find that it did NOT in fact win and Emmy. No, it was instead the DUAL SHOCK ANALOG that won an Emmy. DUBBLEYUU TEE EFF?
Hasn't that thing been around since like 1997? Or maybe they mean the more recent one for the PS2…from 2000.
And to make things even more confusing, apparently Nintendo has also won the same award but they did not specify what for. One would imagine it's for the Wii but maybe it's for the Virtual Boy. Who the hell knows anymore? Or cares. Not me. I'm done. Though if you do, you can see below who else one some other weird Emmy awards including John Carmack and Microsoft.
The Emmy Award for Peripheral Development and Technological Impact of Video Game Controllers
- Nintendo
- Sony Computer Entertainment America, for the Dual Shock Analog Controller.
The Emmy Award for Development of 3D Software Engines
- John Carmack
- id Software
The Emmy Award for Pioneering Work in Near and Real-Time Fully Programmable Shading Via Modern Graphics Processors
- Microsoft
- AMD
- NVIDIA Corporation
