November Sales Numbers Up 34% + Only 197K PS3s Sold

The numbers are in, and as predicted, Sony only managed to eek out 197K PS3s for their launch which is less than half of what they promised (400K) in the weeks leading up to the launch…which itself was less than what they promised only a few months before that. Come on, Sony…

Regardless, looks like everyone did fairly well so far with November sales reaching $1.7 billion (up 34% from last year) with the Wii selling 476K units thus far and the Xbox 360 selling 511K bringing it's US total to 3.8 million. Shockingly, the PS2 and GBA themselves sold over 600K each (who is buying these?!) with the biggest seller of the season, the Nintendo D$, clocking in at 918K systems sold. Yowza.

Software sales saw Gears of War, Final Fantasy XII and Zelda taking the top honors with Guitar Hero 2, WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2007, Call of Duty 3, Madden, Need For Speed, Nintendogs and Pokemon rounding out the top 10.
