You have been able to play simple games on the iPod for a little while now but today Apple announced a greater intent to capitalize on the casual gaming market by including downloadable games on iTunes such as Pac-Man and Tetris for $4.99 for use on their new fifth-gen unit.

Despite these games being "casual" (ie. simple, easy and/or ancient) it seems to me like Apple may be pulling a Microsoft sooner rather than later and perhaps testing the waters for a game system, virtual or otherwise, of their own. Could be verrry interesting if they did!
