Activision Signs ‘Guitar Hero’ Heroes To The Tune of $100M.
It's been a banner year for developer Red Octane. This time last year it's unlikely many people would have been able to tell you who they were much less predict the runaway success that was Guitar Hero.
It was announced earlier this summer that Activsion would absorb Red Octane, but today word comes from Next-Gen that The House of Hawk has purchased Red Octane for a hefty $99.9 million in cash and stocks. Is one hit game worth that? Four words to the affirmative: Bark. At. The. Moon.
We'll see if Guitar Hero 2 lives up to the original this holiday season but for that amount of coin I should imagine it will and then some.
Next Gen's story HERE.
The original press release is HERE.
